... we arrived in Hermanus on a windy & rainy day and it while the rain dried up by the next morning there was still plenty of wind and we could tell from a distance that it was going to be a struggle to spot any whales on the day!!
... so despite a suspicious German gay couple discouraged us to set off unaccompanied we left our hotel bright and early on foot (no pram!!) to take on the Cliff Path Walk on the way to Hermanus hoping to spot some Right Whales on the route!
Not even the chance to reach the Grotto beach and we already identified a wonderful opportunity for a first break!!
.... still nothing to be spotted out at sea!!
... and then suddenly.... LOOK LOOK!!

...the sea looked rough and unpromising!!
... then off we started our walk... oops... I meant our RUN!!!
.... Mamma struggled to keep up at times...
.... so it became a chase between Dadda and me!!
..from time to time I slowed down and allowed her to catch up with me ;-) Cushiiiiiiiin!!
Every so often we stopped on a bench to look out at sea to spot whales and clean my new crocks which were filling up with sand!!!
.... still nothing to be spotted out at sea!!
... several kilometres after as we approached Hermanus we saw a bunch of people sitting on the edge of a cliff observing the horizon... we thought to stop here too and wait alongside the rest of these folks hoping to catch sight of one of those huge creatures...
...and so we waited....
... and then suddenly.... LOOK LOOK!!
...and then another one!!!
...and more!!! there were hundreds of them almost in a procession just skimming past the edge of the coast line...
...all the way into town!! Here are 3 of them right by Hermanus harbour!!
...finally in Hermanus we stopped for a celebratory lunch with a view over the bay!! What a magnificent morning it was!!!
